This talk provides insights into your own personality and into how you react when you must deal with differences of opinion surrounding your “hot buttons.” You will learn to control your emotions, give others the benefit of the doubt, and to express your opinions in ways that allow for acceptance, agreeable outcomes, and improved productivity. 

Disagreements, from time to time, are not only inevitable, but are a natural dynamic that develops between people. Many people actively try to avoid disagreements to maintain a peaceful and cooperative environment. Yet, you can gain so much from people who have different opinions, if you can learn to view these situations as learning opportunities and deal with them in an agreeable and professional way.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify personal hot buttons and our role in disagreements.
  • Give others the benefit of the doubt and cushion opinions for greater acceptance.
  • Apply a formula for contributing ideas and disagreeing in an agreeable way .

Marinated Chefs Meat Balls with Beef and Pork served with Traditional Scalloped Potatoes, Roasted Broccoli with Mushrooms and Red Onion, Arugula & Artichoke Salad, and rolls and butter. Chocolate Mousse Pie on Oreo Crust will be served for dessert.

Register no later than 5:30 p.m. on the Friday one week before the monthly meeting.  Cancellations after the RSVP deadline or “no shows” without a substitution are NOT REFUNDABLE and, if not paid by credit card, will be billed.  Meal substitutions for specific allergies, dietary or religious reasons can be requested BEFORE the RSVP deadline either by comment on the online registration or email to

Payment/Cancellation Policy
All cancellations MUST be made no later than 5PM, the Friday before any event via e-mail ONLY to  Failure to cancel or “no shows” at the meeting will be charged the appropriate cost based on policy and, if not paid by credit card, will be billed.  Credits will NOT be issued for future event registrations.  All refunds, once reviewed and approved by the ACAPA Board, will be issued via ACAPA check ONLY!
